Pricing is per boat, not per person: full-day charters start from around USD 400 for a six-guest speedboat from Waisai, with half-day and sunset options available. Marine Park entry cards and village fees are handled before departure. Raja Ampat Day Boat Charter — FAQ
How much does a Raja Ampat day boat charter cost?
Pricing is per boat, not per person. A private speedboat for up to six guests starts from around USD 400 for a full day from Waisai, including captain, crew, fuel and snorkelling equipment. Sorong departures cost more owing to distance and fuel. The Raja Ampat Marine Park environmental fee — IDR 1,000,000 per foreign visitor, valid twelve months — is charged separately.
Where do Raja Ampat day charters depart from?
Most day charters depart from Waisai harbour on Waigeo, the closest port to Pianemo, Kabui Bay and Arborek. We also run direct departures from Sorong for guests staying on the mainland, plus pickups from homestays and resorts across the Dampier Strait, including Kri, Gam and Mansuar. Your captain confirms the exact departure point on WhatsApp the day before.
Can you reach Pianemo and return in one day?
Yes. Pianemo in the Fam Islands sits roughly ninety minutes from Waisai by speedboat, so a full-day charter comfortably combines the viewpoint climb, Telaga Bintang lagoon and two or three snorkelling stops before returning by late afternoon. Wayag is a far longer run of four hours or more each way and only suits an early start on a fast hull in calm season.
Do I need a permit for a Raja Ampat day trip?
Every visitor needs the Raja Ampat Marine Park entry card (PIN), currently IDR 1,000,000 for foreign nationals and valid for twelve months. Komodo Luxury arranges the card before departure and carries the paperwork on board, together with village fees for stops such as Arborek and Sawinggrai, so ranger checkpoints add no delay to your day on the water.
What happens if the weather turns on charter day?
Your captain monitors conditions and adjusts the route first — the Dampier Strait offers sheltered water around Kabui Bay and Gam when the open crossings are rough. If the harbourmaster suspends departures entirely, we reschedule at no charge or refund your deposit in full. May to September brings the calmest seas; January and February see the most disruption.
